About me

I am wary of introductions because introspection is not necessarily a good thing and the listing of qualities as a self-portrait is suspect when the narrator’s agenda cannot be trusted, even by himself.

But with those caveats, I was born in Malaysia and have lived in Australia for over 20 years with some periods away travelling. I work in a not terribly interesting government type job as it pays reasonably well. I have an inner life that I value much more even if it pays nothing at all.

Originally left liberal, my politics are now consistently libertarian. I have seen definitions of economic rationalism that I have recognised my own beliefs in. I am probably a not-so-secret neo-liberal (american definition).

I still suffer the occasional pangs of guilt for that.

My intellectual interests vary widely and hence suffer from a certain degree of shallowness. The collection of writing here may or may not reveal this. I also write creatively on occasion, have been known to pick up sketching charcoal and fire-staff, though not all at the same time.

For what it’s worth, my MBTI is ENTP although my T score is low enough that ENFP is not out of the question.
